We generally like T-Mobile in these parts and found it shocking that the FTC is alleging that the Uncarrier may have charged users millions of dollars in bogus fees. Read the AP report after the break.

Reuters reports that Cellcom, Israel’s largest mobile phone operator, is looking for a new source of revenue due to a competition heavy market. They will begin to offer television over internet, effectively bringing competition to cable companies and possibly better prices to consumers. Currently there are two cable companies that service the region, HOT and YES. Cellcom’s dive into television provider is sure to shake up the big two.

The Nova is an external flash that works via Bluetooth and is super slim (about credit card size) and portable. This is a great accessory for the iPhone photographers out there whose photos can sometimes be ruined by the on-board flash. While there are some people who wouldn’t give up their DSLR’s for anything, there is a whole new world of iPhone and smartphone photographers out there. Currently there are three major players in the smartphone mobile operating system market, Android, iOS and Windows Phone. All of these can be found globally with different shares of different markets. Now Firefox is attempting to assert itself into a virtually untapped market starting in India, the low-budget market. While there are plenty of people who can afford the latest flagship phones from each respective mobile OS there’s an equal number of people who cannot afford to have an iPhone, HTC M8 or Nokia phone in their pockets.

CNBC is reporting that Sprint and T-Mobile are very close to a summer merger. This rumor has been floating around for a few months now with many T-Mobile customers praying this would not happen. The differences in service and customer service between the two companies is night and day. One hopes that Sprint’s cancer wouldn’t be thrown on T-Mobile but it’s looking like we won’t get that lucky. Full CNBC report below.

Last week ComiXology, a digital comic books distribution platform, made some changes in the way they do business. They uploaded a new app to the Apple App Store to replace the app that they have had up for some time. The changes that were made were not minimal. They stripped out the in app purchase (IAP) system that they had been using and put in a cloud syncing option so that users could log in to the Comixology.com website to make purchases and then sync them to the app. Unsurprisingly, some people were upset.

To me, choosing a smartphone is much like selecting the next car you want to buy. It has to look good to you and feel right in every way if you’re going to spend your hard earned money. Even if you have a decent amount of knowledge, you want the sales person to help you make a decision partly based on information he or she might have that you do not as yet. If that person does not possess the knowledge needed to convey all the pertinent information to you it’s possible you might drive off the lot with something you might regret later. The same can be true of shopping for a smartphone.
